More than five years after they shared a screen together on “Friends” series finale, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox jumped onto the same wagon again on “Cougar Town“. The first look of them in the half-hour comedy series has been shared, showing Cox’s Jules being tended by Kudrow’s dermatologist character.
One thing different this time, Cox and Kudrow did not want to play as friends. Executive Producer Bill Lawrence said, “She plays a dermatologist who is a horrible, horrible person, but [Cox] goes to her because she’s the best. The [sight] of them playing people who dislike each other intensely was very funny for me to watch.”
The episode will be aired on January 6, the first one airing in the new year after the show takes a break for holiday season starting December 9.
Lisa Kudrow is not the only “Friends” who got the offer of appearing on “Cougar”. Cox had proposed the idea to Matthew Perry to become her on-screen boyfriend but the actor thought it would be “a little too much after Chandler and Monica”. Jennifer Aniston is also open to guest star but there has been no role that can fit her, Cox said.

Washington, Nov 17 (ANI): Former ‘Friends‘ star Lisa Kudrow has revealed that a reunion of the hit TV show is unlikely as producers aren’t keen on it.
At Sunday’s P.S. Arts Express Yourself event in Santa Monica, Calif, Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffat on ‘Friends’, said: “Everyone is busy!”
Kudrow says that it’s not the cast that’s preventing the project from going forward; instead the show’s original writer-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane are the biggest objectors.
“I guess they don’t think it’s a good idea,” Usmagazine.com quoted her as saying.

Representatives for Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey Network have debunked the rumors that the two parties are engaged in a talk show deal. To Us Magazine, the actress’ rep branded the story “absolutely false”.
To strengthen the denial, a spokesperson from OWN also released a statement to Us. “OWN is not in discussions with Jennifer Aniston to host a weekly talk show,” the spokesperson said.
The discussion that Aniston would team up with Oprah Winfrey to launch a late-night talk show first emerged on Daily Express’ report. The London newspaper even said that Aniston will co-produce the show and that she was still in negotiation for salary.
Aniston was said inspired by her celebrity friend Chelsea Handler who thought that hosting a talk show would be great for the actress’ return to television. Since wrapping up “Friends” in 2004, Aniston has not made a regular appearance on a single show.
Former Friends star Courteney Cox seems to be getting prettier with age. The 45-year-old actress looked stunning in a low-cut top as she shot for her new show Cougar Town, where she plays single mum Jules.
In one of the scenes, Cox tries to impress a neighbour by wearing a revealing dress and heels, reports the Sun. Meanwhile, Cox, who is married to David Arquette, who’s seven years her junior, revealed she’d like another baby at some point.
The couple is hoping for another sibling to join their five-year-old daughter Coco. Courteney said: “I want Coco to be helping me with the next one. One child is hard. Two is probably harder.”
Five years after he ended his successful run as Joey on “Friends” and three years after the spin-off, “Joey”, was canceled, Matt LeBlanc gets a job in a new sitcom. Showtime in partnership with BBC 2 present a new comedy titled “Episodes” which will put LeBlanc as an actor of a dumbed-down TV show.
The show however won’t only revolve around LeBlanc’s character. The main idea is about a British couple whose TV show is turned into a dumb American sitcom when the format rights are sold in the U.S. “We jumped at the chance to get involved with this cock-eyed look at network television told through the eyes of unsuspecting British producers who don’t know what hit them when they enter the lion’s den of Hollywood,” Showtime Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt said.
Responsible for making the single-camera show alive are co-creator of “Friends”, David Crane, and “Mad About You” producer, Jeffrey Klarik. Six episodes are already on the line with the premiere scheduled in early 2010. No other actors have been announced as the cast.
“What a thrill to have two giants of the comedy world like Klarik and Crane to satirize what they know best: the making (or un-making) of art,” Greenblatt said. “…And Matt LeBlanc – wryly sending up his own image – is icing on the cake.” LeBlanc in return has expressed his glee, joking “I am so glad I got the part, seeing someone else play Matt LeBlanc would have been devastating.”

Cougar Town follows Cox as a middle-aged woman who is trying to rediscover herself and her sexuality while piecing her life back together in the wake of a divorce.
Courteney recently told the LA Times that the role is her most favourite to date, saying: “I hope this show is a huge hit and that people love it. Because I like playing this character more than any character I’ve ever played.”
Whether a “Friends” reunion is possible or not, Courteney Cox has given her side of story. The actress, who portrays Monica in the popular series, was promoting her new show “Cougar Town” during TV Critics Association press tour on Saturday, August 8 when she mentioned that she may share screen with Jennifer Aniston again.
The conversation was started with a question why Cox’s new show’s title is in the same line to Aniston’s “Pumas”. Responding with a joke, Cox said “Yeah, she totally ripped it off! I did know about her movie, but I’m not sure exactly what the story is. I guess Pumas are in their 30s. Jaguars are 50s and sabretooths go right into the 60s?”
It was then that creator Bill Lawrence slipped in the question “Is Jennifer going to be on the show?”. Cox said, “She’s a good friend and I know she loves the show. If Bill writes her a character, I’m sure she’ll do it.”
“Cougar Town” premieres Wednesday, September 23 at 9:30 P.M. on ABC. It is inspired by Lawrence’s real-life experience with wife Christa Miller. “After Chris had our first baby, I walked past her in the bathroom after she got out of the shower and she just looked at herself and said, ‘F***k.’ And I just thought that was so funny,” Lawrence explained.
As reported earlier on this site, seemingly Jennifer Aniston‘s former husband Brad Pitt is calling up his ex-wife in a drunken state to apologize to her. Jennifer had risen to the pinnacle of popularity, with her fabulous portrayal of Rachel Green in the comedy series Friends. Later she was again in headlines when she married the hottest Hollywood hunk, Brad Pitt, in a lavish ceremony in Malibu in 2000. The couple made news again when they divorced in 2005.
And now the Jennifer and Brad are again making waves. However, this time around, there are a few others who are getting written about, along with the former couple. The first name is quite obviously of Pitt’s current partner, Angelina Jolie. Reportedly she is fuming over the news of Pitt apologizing to his ex-wife, whom he supposedly calls after having a little too much to drink.
But, there is another couple who have put another twist in this already controversial love triangle. And this couple is none other than Brad Pitt’s parents. Seemingly, the in-laws of Jennifer prefer her over Angelina. They reportedly want their son to dump Jolie and get back with his former wife Aniston. According to reports, Pitt’s mother, Jane strongly disapproves of Angelina and feels that the actress is not good for her son. It has also been reported that Brad’s parents have been trying to convince him that Angelina will only cause him trouble and no good is to come from their relationship.
But in all this chaos, no one has cared to learn how Jennifer feels. We know that Brad Pitt might be trying to woo his former wife back. We also know that his parents are eager to see the two re-united once again. But what we don’t know is if Jennifer is ready to forgive and forget. The leading lady of Friends has not commented about all that has been reported.
I am sure that she must be analyzing the pros and cons of the current situation and whatever decision she takes will be based on her past experiences as well as her concerns for the future. However, I think we should give Jennifer all the time she requires to make up her mind and respect whatever she decides.
